News entered on 24th October 2007 - Re-releases/New CD soon

Two of our previously unavailable CDs, Preserving the Dead (from 1994) & Midnight Sun (from this millenium) should be available very soon when they are re-released via Stable Records in association with Gasoil Records from Spain. There will be more info on all this very soon.

Meanwhile we have been busy getting a new album together & have already done most of the studio work at Purple Studios in Norwich where we recorded our last CD. It may take a little while before it is ready so we are realistically looking at early next year for a release. There will be about 10 or 11 tracks ranging from heavy blues rockers to solo & duo delta blues style things to a couple of stranger off the wall bits & pieces. We are all very pleased with how it's turning out & feel it is more representative of all the different aspects of the band than any of the previous albums. As soon as it is ready we shall put an MP3 of one of the tracks on the website.

News entered on 26th May 2007 - Project - Beyond the Veil

Members of Egypt have been involved in a project started off by Pat Townshend, designer of Staccato drums & guitars, & Mick Kirton (ex-Hawkwind/Groundhogs/DRN & others) with contributions from members of various other bands including John O’Leary, harp player & founder member of Savoy Brown (having also played with Champion Jack Dupree, Tony McPhee & many others), US guitarist Gregg Wright & various other musicians.

Two tracks 'Spirit of Brian Jones' & 'What Fame Can Do' were recorded at Purple Studios in Norwich featuring Alan on bass & Eric on vocals on both with Eric on lead guitar as well on one of the tracks. There has been interest from various radio stations, publications, etc & a few selected Egypt gigs in the future may feature a guest spot for Pat to join the band for a couple of numbers to perform the tracks which are a musical accolade of Rolling Stone Brian Jones & deals with his mysterious demise all those years ago under suspicious circumstances.

There is a more detailed explanation of the whole thing including photos of the studio session @ http://www.brianjonesfanclub.com/beyond.htm where there is a link for downloading the tracks.
